Similar to last year - groups conditioning, groups playing, groups drill work.
Focus on small sided game play, split field and get multiple games going
Larger sided games; mixed talent levels; similar talent levels
Coaches will be observing; less coaching; its' YOUR TRYOUT; show case to us what you can do for program
Tryout is (3) days "pro style" tryout. Looking at position play, aggressiveness, game IQ, movement with / without the ball, foot work, team play, character, conditioning, strength, soccer related skill. All this vs. the needs of the program / team. You will work with various levels of athletes, age groups, and focus on small sided games. Conditioning tests, speed drills, ball work, position specific drills, are all part of the tryout process. Focus is on game play and how you interact with teams assigned vs. what your strengths and weaknesses are. A variety of coaches (JV and Varsity) will get eyes on you to see talent levels, make recommendations, and give inputs. We are mainly there to observe, not coach. Tryout is your chance to showcase your skills.
4th day we will call each player in for one on one evaluation with coaching staff. We will give you some feedback, give you a letter, and either ask you to join the program or give you feedback on what you need to do better. Once in the program, team (JV vs. Varsity) is based on performance, attitude, and program need. NOTE: if weather issues or want to see additional players, a 4th day of try out MAY be added.
5th day if you make the program, you are mine from Feb 22 - first week of June!! 5 days a week (training, match play, bus, conditioning, WORK). But team, fun, rep DHS, playoffs, wear the Titan "T", soccer under the lights, home crowd, parent support, community spirit!! DOMFUT ROCKS!!
PARENT MEETINGS - (scheduled for:) 26 FEB 2019 - - SPRING MEET THE COACHES / PARENTS MEETING. 730pm (time may change) DHS Auditorium. Players / Parents selected for Spring Team, please join us to discuss upcoming 2019 Season, meet coaches, and talk DOMFUT (player expectations, parent expectations, program expectations, and how we roll)
